Knowing how to make a product, ensure it meets specifications and pleases the customer are basic elements in running a business.  Recently, employees who work at the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), managed by Honeywell, spent time mentoring students at Junior Achievement’s new BizTown, teaching younger people how to build, test and market toy yo-yo’s as a way to run a business.

JA BizTown immerses students in grades 4-6 in a simulated economy where they practice real-world skills. Within the Honeywell space, children get hands on learning experience. A key part of Junior Achievement's Capstone programs is the real-world experience of adult volunteers as they guide students through their visit to BizTown. Each volunteer helps between 4-7 students in JA BizTown to learn how an economy operates as they strive to successfully earn a business profit. Students learned varying aspects of careers at KCNSC including the roles of Project Engineer, Technician, Inspector and Marketing Director.
