National Intern Day Celebration at the KC Zoo

Our summer interns enjoy all kinds of events planned by the Intern Planning Committee (IPC), including a trip to the zoo to celebrate National Intern Day last Thursday.

The trip wrapped up a week of interns presenting their summer projects, which showcase how their work contributes to our business.

Almost all of our summer interns and several members of the IPC attended the event planned by Chemical Engineer I and IPC member Cindy Lim.

The day was full of excitement, zookeepers even brought a Humboldt Penguin for the interns to see up close during their lunch break.

“I loved getting to see the penguin,” Student Engineer III Alex Hall said. “He posed for some hilarious pictures!”

IPC events throughout the summer give interns a great opportunity to build relationships with the other interns and have fun!

“I loved the opportunity to meet and bond with other students,” Alex Hall said. “I worried that COVID would stop me from being able to meet so many new people, but thanks to IPC events I was able to network with a lot of great people.”

Thanks to all of the 2020 interns for a great summer!
