Employees Support Big Brothers Big Sisters Virtual Event

Daniel Krueger, Honeywell Engineer Fellow, has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Kansas City for over a decade and is grateful for the amazing things BBBS does for our community’s youth. Daniel also appreciates working for a company that encourages volunteering and community involvement which allowed him to form a team in support of BBBS first virtual trivia event.

This year’s virtual event replaced BBBS’s annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake bowling tournament to accommodate social distancing guidelines. Honeywell has been participating and supporting the fundraiser since 2018, - this year seven teams participated. Teams utilized social media as an avenue to spread the word and help raise funds through their connections.

“As team captain host, I was a bit worried the changes to a virtual event would take away from the past bowling events we’ve always enjoyed,” Daniel said. “But trivia was a lot more fun than we expected. We had a blast talking through our answers.”

Honeywell employees raised nearly $4,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Kansas City’s virtual trivia fundraising night. Along with a corporate sponsorship, Honeywell provided BBBS with a donation of $18,970.

Thank you to everyone who participated to support BBBS! Learn more about BBBS and how they’re supporting the youth in our community.
