DP awards showcase KCNSC technical achievement
More than 340 individuals from 11 Kansas City National Security Campus teams received recognition this week for their technical collaboration supporting NNSA's Defense Programs.
Michael Thompson, NNSA Assistant Deputy Administration for Major Modernization Programs, presented the awards in a special ceremony on September 18 to 11 teams, including three Exceptional Achievement winners.
The awards recognize on an annual basis the contributions of work performed in support of the Stockpile Stewardship Program. The awards are given for significant achievements in quality, productivity, cost savings, safety or creativity in support of the nuclear weapons program.
During the same ceremony, KCNSC recognized additional technical achievements through its own Significant Technical Achievement Reward and Recognition (STARR) awards. Of the 14 nominees, 5 employees were honored with recognition for significant technical innovation and process improvements.
