Students show off their STEM knowledge in Regional Science Bowl

Mar 16, 2021, 09:58 AM

For nearly 30 years, the U.S. Department of Energy and Honeywell have sponsored the Kansas City

Regional Science Bowl, which aims to get students excited about science and math, and to inspire them to pursue careers in these fields. With STEM jobs growing 3 times faster than other sectors, Honeywell is working to boost the pipeline.

This year looked a little different as teams challenged each other in a virtual format. Each team member virtually joined from their own home to help answer tough questions in the areas of biology, chemistry, earth and space sciences, mathematics, and computer science.

Congratulation to our regional winners who will compete against other regional winners at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Virtual National Science Bowl in May.

  • MO/KS Middle School Regional Champion: Pleasant Ridge Middle School, Overland Park, KS
